A BIT ABOUT US

All Greater Good Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization focused on "The Art of Wellness". We pursue programs that unite the understanding of health and art, and explore the complex relationship they share. We have a long history in connecting the public to scientific findings, translating the complex understanding of health to a common and understandable language. We are moving forward with that translation effort focusing now on the art of wellness, and everything that includes.

We believe in teamwork, and we work extensively with partners to pursue programs that would be impossible alone. We believe this broadens the impact we are able to have on the world around us, and allows us to spread our mission further.

About Us: About Us

A MESSAGE FROM OUR FOUNDER

All Greater Good Foundation was created in an effort to promote wellness, initially by translating research “from bench to bedside", and now by supporting the art of wellness in all forms. We work in pursuit of improving public health, particularly in underserved communities. By translating and supporting various facets of wellness, we strive to engage and improve overall wellness in all communities. We believe that the various facets of wellness, such as self awareness, nutrition, preventative care, and art lead to an overall healthy lifestyle. Wellness is no one size fits all, and has many parts to nourish. We strive to provide the support necessary for the art of wellness to flourish in all its forms.

We believe in the power of teamwork as we work with other organizations to achieve our goals. We cannot do it alone nor should we. So we turn to others who are doing outstanding work in their fields and leverage their expertise with our own to have the greatest impact possible.

KATJA VAN HERLE, M.D., M.S.P.H

President & Chief Executive Officer

As a medical professional, Dr. Van Herle has had ample opportunities and experience in working with world- renowned research and medical institutions on a number of projects. In her long term association and her dedication to medicine, Dr. Van Herle has observed projects first-hand that have been rejected by major research institutes or corporations for political, business, or other reasons. She has long been interested in developing medicine and programs that focus on the idea of "the art of wellness"

through a non-profit organization that is free from major institutes' policy limitations and/or major corporations' project parameters.

She received both her M.D. and M.S. in Public Health from the University of California, Los Angeles. Her postdoctoral training in Internal Medicine was also performed at the UCLA Medical Center. Dr. Van Herle has served in various capacities at UCLA for five years including: Chief of Endocrinology and Chair of the Diabetes Task Force at Santa Monica – UCLA Hospital before joining The Scripps Research Institute in 2004. She maintains a clinical faculty appointment at the UCLA School of Medicine, with a clinical practice in Los Angeles. Additionally, her practice includes patients from a broader scope, both nationally and internationally, who seek Dr. Van Herle’s expertise in medical problem solving.

Dr. Van Herle is also a Principal of DENK Gallery, where she works to connect the worlds of art and health.

Dr. Van Herle is a member of the American Thyroid Association, The American Medical Association, The American Diabetes Association, and has won an Award of Excellence and Humanitarianism in Internal Medicine from the Clinical Faculty Association of the UCLA Department of Medicine. In 2007 she was named as one of America’s Top Physicians in Endocrinology by the Consumer Research Council of America and is recognized as the 2008 Professional of the Year in the area of Internal Medicine in the Global Directory of Who’s Who.
